Well, the majority has spoken, so this week you don't get SECONDS. And as a side note, don't PILE IN ON the first plate, just take enough that you'll feel comfortably satisfied when you walk away from the table. YES I SAID THE TABLE....or maybe a counter with a stool. Take time to enjoy those FIRSTS rather than eating on the run! Also, no elevators or escalators. TAKE THE STAIRS. If that doesn't apply to you, try this: When you walk downstairs or upstairs to do something at home, walk up and down twice instead of just the once required. KEEP MOVING!
WIN SOME LOOT
The POT this month will cost $5 to enter. Remember entering is optional. The winner is the person the loses the heighest percentage of their weight in a months time. "Hey if you lose the most, winning a few bucks is just a nice bonus."
Previous DO's and DON'Ts
Set a cut off time for eating, whether that be 6, 7, or 8 o'clock PM....nothing later. Also, do something each afternoon to build a little muscle. IE with your back flat against the wall and your feet about eighteen inches out from the wall, slide down until your legs are perpendicular to your torso. Hold that position until you "feel the burn" in your thighs. Relax and repeat four more times!
Don't BUY ICE CREAM. And if there is already ice cream in the house that you just can't resist, have a small scoop on a cone rather than a bowl full. No DRIVE-THRUs. Instead of just avoiding drive-thrus that offer food and drink for purchase, let's avoid all drive thrus, the bank, the dry cleaners, the pharmacy. Get out and walk in. JUST KEEP MOVING!
Eat a minimum of two servings of vegetables every day. Cut back on "FAST FOOD" or just don't have any at all.
We had three new members this week. The word is getting out! We have a couple of alternate weigh in times for those who can't get to the meeting. Just email sunflower@networld.com for an alternate arrangement.
To firm stomach and glute muscles flex and relax them throughout the day wherever you are and whether sitting or standing. You'll be amazed at the results after just a few weeks.
Drink more water. Drink less pop. Stop driving around in circles to find a parking place close to the store front. Park on the outskirts and get some exercise!
I am a lot like you. Every day I experience a unique blend of joy and stress. There are things I do well and things I could do better. There is one thing that I cannot seem to do alone and that is why I have rallied the rest of you to my aid. Together, I believe we can do anything we set our mind to, ONE DAY AT A TIME, ONE WEIGH IN AT A TIME.
